Professional BackgroundAmy grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science. She then completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.With 14 years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA-C), Amy has developed a diverse clinical background, having worked in inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department settings. Her career journey also took her around the world with her husband, a U.S. Air Force pilot, before they decided to settle in North Georgia after 20 years of service.Before joining HVC, Amy was a full-time cardiology PA-C in the hospital setting, where she developed a deep passion for the comprehensive, whole-body management of metabolic cardiovascular diseases. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) – both national and Georgia chapters, and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Amy prioritizes staying up-to-date with the latest cardiology guidelines by attending both in-person and virtual lectures.Dedicated to patient education and fostering strong, trusting relationships, Amy is committed to providing personalized care that enhances her patients’ overall health and quality of life.Outside of the clinic, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons, keeping busy with their sports and extracurricular activities.
