Our Cardiovascular Care Services
Heart and Vascular Care provides the full spectrum of cardiovascular care using advanced, minimally invasive techniques to treat a wide range of heart and blood vessel conditions. Our highly skilled team of specialists is dedicated to providing personalized care to each patient, ensuring the best possible outcomes. Explore our cardiovascular treatments and procedures.
Our Procedures
At HVC, we offer a range of common procedures designed to address our patients' needs. These procedures are tailored to ensure optimal outcomes and are performed by our experienced team of specialists. These procedures include:
Cardiac Catheterization / Coronary Angioplasty and Stent:
Traditionally this procedure is performed through the groin or femoral artery, but now there is a less invasive, safer, and more comfortable technique for doing these procedures: using the wrist or radial artery. The physicians at Heart and Vascular Care are experts at performing these procedures through a single needle stick in the blood vessel of the wrist (radial artery).
Cardioversion:
If you suffer from arrhythmia, your doctor may recommend treating it by resetting your heart rate. This cardiac procedure & treatment is called cardioversion or defibrillation. Used to treat both atrial fibrillation (AFib) and atrial flutter (AFlutter), cardioversion uses an electric shock sent through your heart to change its irregular heart rhythm back into a normal one.
Defibrillator or AICD
The AICD is implanted only in patients who have a risk for a life-threatening arrhythmia and all the correctible causes have been ruled out. The most common indication is patient with weak heart muscle or cardiomyopathy from any cause, with the most common cause being coronary artery disease. If you have had a heart attack or suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest, your doctor may recommend an AICD for you as well. An AICD is extremely useful in preventing death in patients who are at risk of suffering ventricle arrhythmia.
Lower Extremity Balloon Angioplasty and Stent:
Patient with blockages in the arteries of the legs (Peripheral Arterial Disease or PAD) were traditionally treated with major vascular surgery. But now there are less invasive, safer, and more comfortable endovascular techniques for doing these procedures. The physicians at Heart and Vascular Care are experts at performing these cardiac procedures & treatments in the North Georgia and Metro-Atlanta area through a single needle stick.
Pacemaker:
A pacemaker is a small, battery-operated device that is inserted under the skin to help regulate your heartbeat. It stimulates the heart by sending it electrical impulses through small wires that run directly to the heart. It is about the size of a two silver dollar coins stacked against each other.
