Vein Center at HVC

Varicose veins are often misunderstood as a cosmetic problem and many people living with them do not seek treatment. There are a variety of treatments available to relieve the discomfort and unsightliness of varicose and spider veins. After a thorough evaluation by one of our qualified physicians, we can determine the treatment that is best for you. Initial evaluations are considered medically necessary and are typically covered by most insurance plans.Treatment, if considered medically necessary, is also often covered. Heart and Vascular Care has been recognized for offering high quality outpatient vein treatment by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Endovascular Radiofrequency Ablation

This catheter based technology can treat varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Originally developed to treat heart problems, RF ablation has expanded to the treatment of vein disease as well.

Illiac Vein Stenting

A potential cause of venous insufficiency is the obstruction and the compression of large veins in the pelvis. Guided by the use of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), this condition can now be treated successfully with stent insertion.

Varithena

Varithena allows patients to return to light activity the same day of treatment. Compression stockings must be worn for two weeks to support the treated veins and ensure proper healing. Heavy exercise must be avoided for one week.

Phlebectomy

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Ambulatory phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure typically performed under local anesthesia. It is for large, bulging varicose veins that persist after a refluxing vein has been closed. Tiny incisions are made through which, the varicose veins are removed. Typically, no stitches are required, and most patients return to work the next day.

Venaseal

VenaSeal has several advantages over ablation or compression stockings. VenaSeal requires only the initial local anesthesia rather than many needle pricks. The recovery time is very fast, with patients returning to regular activity immediately without having to wear compression stockings for any length of time. The swelling and discomfort of the varicose veins disappears very quickly, and the discoloration will begin to fade. The veins themselves will be absorbed into the leg. Less bruising occurs during this process as well.
