Vascular Care

We provide comprehensive vascular and endovascular care serving residents of metro Atlanta and North Georgia. We offer minimally invasive procedures to treat both the arteries (vessels that carry blood away from heart) and veins. Our board-certified physician specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular disease, coronary stenosis, renal vascular disease, as well as disorders of the veins, including chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, and DVT (deep vein thrombosis).

Arterial Disease

Peripheral Artery Disease: is caused by the buildup of plaque in the arteries that can constrict the flow of blood to the extremities. Patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease often have

  • pain or heaviness in the legs when walking
  • Infections in the leg
  • Non-healing ulcers or wounds

Patients often have a history of smoking, diabetes, heart attacks, coronary artery disease, stroke and high cholesterol.

Vein Disease

Vein Disease, also known as chronic venous insufficiency, is caused by malfunctioning valves within the vein that can lead to a backflow and pooling of blood in the lower leg.

Patients with vein disease can often have pain and ulcers, but also suffer from symptoms such as:

  • Bulging or varicose veins
  • Spider veins (small purple or reddish streaks on legs)
  • Leg and ankle swelling and edema
  • Leg heaviness and fatigue
  • Skin discoloration
  • Open wounds

Risk factors for vein disease include occupations with prolonged standing, previous injury or blood clots in legs, multiple pregnancies, obesity, and family history. This condition can occur at any age.

Heart and Vascular Care Logo

The physicians at Heart and Vascular Care, Inc are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak via the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The virus and protocols around it are changing quickly, and we are working to mitigate any impact on our patients, staff and providers.

We ask all patients and their guests who have a fever, symptoms of a respiratory infection, or have been exposed to a person with a coronavirus, the flu or any other communicable disease to please call to reschedule their appointments or procedures.

We will be posting signs in our offices and following CDC and Georgia DPH recommendations for screening and management of patients. If you are at all concerned you may have a serious infectious disease, your best course of action is to call or seek care from your primary care physician’s office or local hospital’s emergency department.

Please remember that the best way to prevent the spread of communicable disease is cleanliness and hand washing.

Again, this is an evolving situation, and we will be closely monitoring it and providing
our patients and staff updates. We are doing everything we can to keep our patients and staff healthy.

If you have questions or need any assistance rescheduling an appointment, please call us at 678-513-2273.
