This activity is designed to provide educational content addressing cardiology and vascular innovation in North Metro Atlanta. There is a specific emphasis on PET stress testing, cardiac surgery, and vascular procedures. On a lighter note will also have a segment with a physician who is a stand-up comic! Physicians and APPs in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine are encouraged to attend.

Dr. Bhatt received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia after graduating summa cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he was honored as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Bhatt has presented his research at the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions and has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters. He is board-certified in internal medicine, general cardiology, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Bhatt is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Bhatt served as the course director of the Cherokee Cardiovascular Summit. Dr. Bhatt is also the Chairman of Section of Cardiology for Northside Cherokee Hospital. Dr. Bhatt pioneered coronary angioplasty and stenting at the Northside Cherokee Hospital. His expertise includes interventional cardiology, general cardiology, advanced lipidology, and vascular medicine.
Dr. Carlos Calle-Muller received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. He was among a select group of physicians recruited directly from his program in Peru to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. Muller served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. Following his fellowship, Dr. Muller moved to Atlanta to complete a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Emory University, where he also served as Chief Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow.
Dr. Muller is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Comprehensive Echocardiography, and Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Muller’s extensive training will allow him to utilize the newest technologies including the implantation of leadless pacemakers, subcutaneous implantable defibrillators, ablation of simple and complex arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, and left atrial appendage occluding devices. He is also trained in stress testing, invasive and non-invasive cardiac ultrasound, short- and long-term cardiac monitors.
A founding member of Heart and Vascular Care, Dr. Kakkar received his medical degree from the University of Delhi in New Delhi India. His internship and residency were spent at the New York Medical College. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the Louisiana State University followed by his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. Dr. Kakkar is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society of Coronary Angiography & Intervention.
He has authored numerous articles in interventional cardiology and has received multiple awards nationally. He is board-certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. His expertise includes Interventional Cardiology, Coronary Angioplasty, Coronary Stents, Peripheral Arterial Stents, and Pacemakers. He was appointed as the Director of the new Cardiac Cath Lab at Northside Forsyth Hospital. Dr. Kakkar pioneered coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures at the Northside Forsyth Hospital and Northside Cherokee Hospital.
Dr. Ball is a cardiac surgeon at Northside Cardiac Surgeons.
He received an undergraduate degree in engineering at Mississippi State University and a doctorate at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a cardiothoracic residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago. He then practiced cardiac surgery at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville for 10 years before moving to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he ultimately focused on valve surgery, particularly minimally invasive and transcatheter procedures.
Dr. Ball is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and brings over 25 years of adult cardiac surgery experience to Northside Hospital Gwinnett.
Dr. Anand Mehta is dedicated family physician who is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He was born and raised in Buffalo, NY where he attended SUNY Buffalo. He later graduated Medical School from Kasturba Medical College, India. His residency was completed at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Dr. Mehta then worked for the hospital group before moving to Georgia in 2014.
Since the move to GA, Dr. Mehta worked as a solo family physician for WellStar Health System for five years in Roswell, GA. His most recent position was as a Medical Director of Walmart Health in Dallas, GA. Dr Mehta and his team were able to make the very first Walmart Health in the nation a growing success. During this time, he has created a reputation for himself as a caring and compassionate provider.
Dr. Mehta takes the time to listen to the needs of his patients. He is an extrovert known to make people laugh, is empathetic, kind and welcoming, with extensive medical knowledge. His character is spoken highly by patients, both in New Jersey and in Georgia. He has received remarkable patient satisfaction scores, coupled with providing exceptional care to his patients. He is known to his former coworkers and employees as a great team leader, always lending kind words, a smile and strives to provide his patient's ultimate care.
