Dr. Bhatt received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia after graduating summa cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he was honored as Chief Fellow. Dr. Bhatt has presented his research at the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions and has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters. He is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Bhatt is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Bhatt served as the course director of the Cherokee Cardiovascular Summit. Dr. Bhatt is also the Chairman of Section of Cardiology for Northside Cherokee Hospital. Dr. Bhatt pioneered coronary angioplasty and stenting at the Northside Cherokee Hospital. His expertise includes interventional cardiology, general cardiology, advanced lipidology, and vascular medicine.

Dr. Bhatt serves as an expert consultant for Hollywood, Health & Society (HH&S), a program at the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center that provides entertainment industry professionals with accurate and timely information for health storylines on television.

Dr. Bhatt is married with two children and enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.

Dr. Dana Eilen grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Dunwoody High School. After he graduated from St. Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine he moved to Greenville, NC and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Marshall University where he was honored as Chief Fellow and designated as a Teaching Scholar. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Eilen has authored numerous journal articles and presented research at regional and national meetings. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Comprehensive Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and has special certification in vascular ultrasound.

John Cherian, M.D.

Heart and Vascular Care is excited to announce that Dr. John Cherian will be joining the practice beginning August 1st.

Dr. Cherian graduated from Christian Medical College and completed his cardiovascular fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA in 2011. Dr. Cherian practices clinical and invasive non-interventional cardiology and is proficient in various procedures including cardiac catheterization, TEE, and IVC filter implantation.

Kristy received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree in 2001 from The State University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. Following obtaining her degree, she worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite from 2001-2008 as a Registered Nurse. In 2007 she graduated from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Healthcare Administration.

HVC is excited to introduce our new Physician's Assistant starting on August 1, 2016. Kathleen Boettcher, PA-C is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor of Sciences at Villanova University outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has practiced cardiology for 12 years - 6 of which was spent at Duke University Medical Center. She has returned to the northern Atlanta area to be closer to family. She enjoys running, college sports, and spending time with family and friends. Kathleen will see patients mainly in Canton and Ellijay.
